The houses behind L&W

Parent Company

Lee Kim Tah and Woh Hup: two Singapore builders, each with close to a century of work behind them, and one shared standard for anything that carries their name.

Lee Kim Tah

Homes for a nation.

Lee Kim Tah works across real estate and construction, with investments and operations in Singapore, Australia, China, the United Kingdom and India. The house holds itself to work excellence, and keeps developing its people and its products so that clients get quality at a cost that makes sense.

In the early 1980s, in recognition of proven ability and expertise, the Singapore Government chose Lee Kim Tah as a core contractor. The company has since completed nearly 140,000 high quality HDB flats, a lasting contribution to the housing of the Singapore population. With its construction base secure, Lee Kim Tah diversified into property development and investment: luxury apartments, landed properties, shopping malls and hotels. Success at home carried the firm further afield, with projects completed in China, Australia, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Malaysia.

Woh Hup

“Get it right the first time.”

Woh Hup (Private) Limited was established in 1927 with construction as its core competency. By the 1980s it had consolidated its reputation as a leading Singapore builder through a run of prominent projects: the Ocean Building in 1975, the Hong Kong Bank Building in 1982, Centrepoint Shopping Centre in 1983 and the extension of the Tat Lee Bank Building in 1984.

In that same year, when Singapore's Construction Industry Development Board introduced its Contractor's Registration System, Woh Hup was one of the first companies classified G8, a grade now carried as A1: eligible to tender for projects of unlimited value under the General Building and Engineering category.

Quality is the house obsession, held in a motto that has not moved in a century: GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. The Singapore Government ranks Woh Hup's work highly, as the company's long record of CONQUAS awards shows. CONQUAS, the Construction Quality Assessment System, is conferred by the Building Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore for outstanding construction quality standards.

Today Woh Hup stands among Singapore's largest and most diversified construction groups, with construction and property investment operations in Singapore, the United Kingdom, Thailand, the Philippines, China and India. Reflections at Keppel Bay, built by Woh Hup, is the single largest residential development in Singapore's history, with a contract value of S$959.18 million. The Interlace, Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Bay Financial Centre stand alongside it in the book.
